They ain't just for building. Here's a quick and simple way to use them to teach 4 colors in Spanish.
Grab those blocks and have your child help you group them by colors.
Sing the colors song! To the tune of London Bridge is Falling down (the nursery song, not the Fergie song. We'll just pretend you never heard that one):
Amarillo is yellow, amarillo is yellow, amarillo is yellow, si, si, si.
Verde is green, verde is green, verde is green, si, si, si.
Azul is blue, azul is blue, azul is blue, si, si, si.
Rojo is red, rojo is red, rojo is red, si, si, si.
Ex: Who has rojo, rojo, rojo, Who has rojo, si, si, si.
Then...Repeat, repeat, repeat!
*Bonus Word* When your child says "again" to play the game another time, you say: "SI, otra vez."
1.) Have your kid's PJs match.
2.) Get rid of the blanky after taking the "pretty pictures".
3.) Be prepared to actually play the game, sing the song, and forget about posting the blog right away.
