After introducing it to my students in a Bilingual style, it's become a major hit in class!
I only changed 3 words in the song:
Conejito - Bunny/Rabbit
Ratoncito - Mouse
Hada - Fairy
Here are the full lyrics so you can sing along with your child:
Conejito Fufu hopping through the forest. Scooping ratoncitos and bopping them on the head. Down came the good Hada and said, "Conejito Fufu, I don't want to see you, scooping ratoncitos and bopping them on the head. I'll give you 3 chance to be a good conejito and then I'm turning you to stone!" **At this point I have the kids hide their eyes and then I ask them, "Listos?" (Ready?) and they respond, "Si!" (Yes!). The whole song starts over again until the last chance. When it's conejito Fufu's last chance the good Hada comes down and says, "Conejito Fufu I'm turning you to stone. Poof!" At this point the kids duck down and hide themselves like little stones. I tell them not to wake up until they feel the good Hada's magic - which is me tickling the back of their necks and saying "deedle deedle dee" while they are hiding.
Be prepared to play this game over and over again!
IF you wanted to add more Spanish words to the song you could switch out these words as well:
Hopping - Saltando or Brincando
Head - Cabeza
Good Hada - La Hada Buena
And Said - Y Dijo
3 chances - Tres Oportunidades
